The War of 1812 will be revisited at the Fairfax County 10th Annual History Conference: “Fire, Flight and Fury – The War of 1812 200 years Later.” The Fairfax County History Commission, Fairfax County Park Authority and the Fairfax City Museum and Visitor Center will co-sponsor the conference, which will be held at the Stacy. C. Sherwood Community Center at 3740 Old Lee Highway in Fairfax on Saturday, Nov. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Speakers will present the history of the War of 1812 and its impact on Fairfax County. Admission registration is $20 and is due no later than Oct. 29. Authors & exhibitors are encouraged to attend – a table can be provided for an additional $10. No registrations will be accepted at the door. A continental breakfast, deli lunch and conference materials will be included. Local historical organizations and authors will have displays.
