To the Editor:
In an area like ours, where national news usually stands at the forefront and many readers turn to national news outlets for the bulk of their election coverage, it is a source of great pride and inspiration to see the Great Falls Connection provide such outstanding coverage. From day one of this colorful, controversial campaign season up to the actual Election Day results, The Connection provided stories that were timely, tightly-written and exhaustively researched. That we have a local, weekly publication of such consistently high quality is a blessing to the entire community, and a rarity needed -- especially as newspapers large and small continue their struggle to remain alive and relevant in this ever-evolving "e-reader" world. Sure, national news outlets are still very important. But local new outlets such as the Connection provide coverage in a uniquely customized, community-focused way that is refreshing, conscientious and in a very real way, even comforting. Gratitude to The Connection for cutting through the campaign clutter so consistently, and giving us the facts. Just the facts.
