The West Potomac Business Association hosted the annual Taste of Del Ray on Sunday afternoon, June 8, in the parking lot behind the United Bank in Del Ray. This year’s judge was Jessica Sidman, the food critic with the City Paper. The judge’s awards went to Evening Star Café and their chilled corn soup, Cheesetique with macaroni and cheese ball and the Caboose Café’s lentils with vegetable samosas. Pork Barrel Barbeque took first place in the People’s Choice Awards with the smoked chicken chili, second place was a tie between True Health and Wholeness’s pork carnitas and Los Tios’s beef fajitas, newly opened Kaisen Tavern received the third place prize with the seaweed and calamari salads.
