On Friday, June 20, the sixth-grade graduation class of Chesterbrook Elementary School in McLean presented an historic plaque and a planted dogwood tree to their school. The students, school and state officials, parents and members of McLean & Great Falls Celebrate Virginia were present for the dedication of the historic marker commemorating the route that President James Madison may have taken from Minor's Hill to Salona in McLean to escape the Aug. 24, 1814 burning of Washington.
