The Arlington School Board named David McCrae as the new director of Transportation Services at its July 1 meeting. McCrae is currently serving as the vice president and director of business development for MV Global Transport Logistics in Vienna, Va.
McCrae has 28 years of experience in the transportation field. This includes serving as senior manager of performance services for UK Sports in London and assistant general manager of Spectator Transport Systems at the 2002 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.
At MV Global Transport Logistics, McCrae is responsible for business development and commercial growth of projects in excess of $30 million over a 10-year period. He has planned and directed multiple projects and operations for this leading worldwide major event transport management company.
Some projects McCrae led have included transportation for the 2012 London Olympic Games and other sporting events, the World War II Memorial dedication and the Centenary of Flight Celebrations in Kitty Hawk, N.C.
McCrae holds a Bachelor’s Degree in education, physical education and human movement from the University of Strathclyde, Scottish School of Physical Education in Scotland. His appointment begins Sept. 1.
