St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, 9203 Braddock Road in Burke is hosting Partnering with Families from Birth through Launch Family Map Day on Saturday, March 1, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
This is a new event that the church’s leadership is planning for adult family members (parents, grand parents, etc.) and leaders working with children and youth from the church, preschool, and neighborhood to come together for learning and connection with one another.
Participants will worship together, have an opportunity to attend two workshops of their choice, eat lunch and make new friends, and purchase resources from an on-site bookstore.
They will learn what to expect at each developmental stage, key spiritual practices that are developmentally appropriate to implement at home; and they will be connected with other parents of children at a similar age as their own.
The cost is $10 per registrant and includes lunch. Participants may also choose to purchase resources from the bookstore for reading at home. The Youth Ministry Council and youth are providing childcare and lunch for donations towards their upcoming summer mission trips.
