Burke Resident Eric Fischer to Perform in Oberlin Conservatory Recitals

Eric Fischer '14 of Burke has earned the honor of performing in Oberlin Conservatory’s Danenberg Honors Recitals. Over the course of two nights on Feb. 7 and 15, a range of student musicians will perform in the annual Danenberg Honors Recitals in Warner Concert Hall. The concert will feature both solo performers and ensembles, ranging from an organ performance and a historical performance ensemble to a jazz trio performing an original composition. Fischer will sing Gruppe aus dem Tartarus, Standchen, Aufenthalt, and Liebesbotschaft by Schubert.

The recitals are named to honor Emil Charles Danenberg, who served for 30 years as a member of the conservatory piano faculty, and subsequently as dean of the conservatory and as president of the college. Select students are invited to audition for the recitals, and panels of faculty members choose performers who will demonstrate the best that the Conservatory has to offer.

The recitals take place in Warner Concert Hall. They are free and open to the public, and will be streamed live through Oberlin’s website.
