To the Editor:
I am a grandparent of a Westfield High School student. I have had two other grandchildren graduate from this school. I have been upset with WHS for several years for their policy regarding graduation. The school uses The Patriot Center for the ceremony. A facility that seats more that 9,000 people. Yet WHS limits the number of tickets allotted to each graduate. This hardly makes sense. Chantilly HS and other schools do not limit tickets. WHS does not take requests from students that need more tickets. What are they trying to prove? I have been to two other WHS graduations and the arena was maybe half full. Westfield, what is your reasoning? Have you checked with other schools. If this was in a facility that was not this big, I would understand. I think WHS should re-evaluate this policy.
