Herndon As part of their Weekend Food for Kids program, Assistance League of Northern Virginia, in collaboration with Dominion Virginia Power, purchased food and packed over 11,900 individual food bags for hungry children during the 2012-2013 school year. Dominion Virginia Power provided a $20,000 grant to support this program. In addition, 160 Dominion volunteers donated over 800 hours to help 44 Assistance League volunteers feed 1,500 students who qualify for free and reduced-priced lunches in five schools in Prince William County, Fairfax County, Falls Church and the city of Alexandria. The students received nutritious supplementary food to take home for the weekend on a monthly basis.
