Arlington To the Editor:
You need to redo your argument [“Transportation Money,” editorial, The Connection, Jan. 16-22] for people living near metro and people using the transportation it provides. We, the other taxpayers of Arlington, have heavily subsidized the building and the day-to-day expenses of metro. You conveniently have forgotten those facts typical of the people who want their lifestyles paid for by someone else. Soon we will have finished the silver line addition at a cost of $5.8 billion and only about 5 percent of the general population will ever use the new line. That is called real subsidizing. Enjoy your bike ride on the subsidized streets we all pay for.
