The Vienna Muckdogs, a 10-and-under travel baseball team from Vienna, played in the ninth annual Longhorn Stampede Baseball Tourney, held Friday, April 5, through Sunday, April 7, at Philip Bolen Park in Leesburg. The Muckdogs managed to beat out all their competition.
Head coaches Sean Murakami and Tony Echazarreta led the team against 13 other teams from around the region and state. The Muckdogs played Friday, Saturday and three games on Sunday, making it to the finals and beating the Colangelo Baseball Academy 10U team.
The Vienna Muckdogs are Fletcher Davis, Miguel Echazarreta, Anise Jreige, Brandon Kim, Bo Kuhblank, Owen Maguire, Nick Morgan, Jordan Murakami, Jason Pan, AJ Pritchett, Colin Tuft and PJ Whitworth.
The Muckdog players also compete with various teams in Vienna Little League (majors).
The next tournament will be held over Memorial Day weekend--Kyle’s Kamp Memorial Day Wood Bat Tournament—and will raise money for the Children’s Hospital Foundation.
