To the Editor:
The Affordable Care Act is anything but affordable and will cause great harm to Americans if not repealed. Here are five things everyone should be concerned about in Obamacare:
The government, not doctors and patients, will make healthcare decisions. Value-based payments, quality reporting requirements and government comparative-effectiveness boards will be in charge of how doctors practice medicine.
There are 20-plus new taxes that will hit medical innovators, health insurance and even the sale of your home.
The Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB) will have the power to ration Medicare.
The employer mandate will require most companies to provide and pay for expensive government-determined health insurance for their employees or face federal fines, resulting in many employees paying much higher portions of their premiums or losing their insurance altogether.
$1.7-plus trillion in new spending will cause huge deficits that will expand the dangerously increasing national debt.
The Nov. 6 election is our last chance to overturn Obamacare. Please vote for those who will make sure this pernicious law is repealed and replaced with free market solutions to healthcare: Mitt Romney, George Allen and Chris Perkins.
