The cast of “The Woodlawn Post” takes a bow. The cast includes: Jaelon Hubbard, Kyra Meneely, John Martinez, Demetrius Coleman, Aedan Amos, Jhonny Lovo, Mark Rivera, Zain Vipraio and Madison Burtis.
Fifty-one fifth graders from Mt. Vernon Wood, Woodley Hills and Woodlawn Elementary Schools have spent the past 12 weeks in a theatre workshop hosted by the Mount Vernon Community Children’s Theatre. The students created original plays based on themes from their life at school. The plays have been in rehearsal since February. On Tuesday evening, May 1, the students brought their work to the stage at Woodlawn Elementary.
The students at Mt. Vernon Woods performed “The Princess Bullies,” directed by Sara Lilly. John Waldron directed both Woodley Hills in “A Night at the Woodley Hill Museum of Unnatural History” and Woodlawn Elementary in “The Woodlawn Post.”
