Letter: Many Behind Fundraiser’s Success

To the Editor:

On May 19, Chantilly National Golf and Country Club hosted their Annual Cancer Fundraiser which was organized by members of the Social Tennis Committee along with many other wonderful volunteers.

This year we were able to raise over $3,000 to donate to the American Cancer Society with the help of many local businesses and individuals who contributed gift baskets, gift cards or items for our Silent Auction and Raffle.

The event started off with organized drills and games for the participants followed by a doubles exhibition led by visiting tennis professionals from other clubs. Chantilly’s new tennis pro, Jennifer Douglas, then coordinated rounds of mixed doubles for over 40 players.

The local businesses who contributed were: Chantilly National Golf and Country Club, Tennis Pro Shop and the Golf Pro Shop;

Four Seasons Tennis Shop; Fairfax Racquet Club Pro Shop and Fitness Center; Willi’s Ski and Tennis Shop; Barrel Oak Winery;

Sunset Hills Vineyard; Paradise Springs Winery; The Winery at La Grange; Bonefish Grill; Carrabba’s Italian Grill; P.J. Skidoo’s;

Mon Ami Gabi French Restaurant; San Vito Restaurant; Zoe’s Kitchen; Trader Joe’s; Dr. Bruce Hutchinson, DDS; Chantilly Ourisman Toyota; Salon Solutions; Sully Nails; Centreville Virginia Tire and Auto; Pho Aura Restaurant; Eggspectations, Centreville; DeBaggio’s Nursery; Giant; SUDS Car Wash; Salon Antoine and Spa; Finishing Touch Salon, and J.C. Penny’s, Fair Oaks.

We want to extend our gratitude and appreciation to all these businesses, which helped make this a really successful fundraiser. We also thank all the individuals who contributed items and gift baskets.
