The merchants of Franklin Farm Village Center in Herndon donated $1,000 to Rachel Carson Middle School as part of the shopping center's annual shopping spree promotion. The school received the donation thanks to Sandra Davis of Herndon who listed Rachel Carson Middle as her favorite school on the entry form she filled out for the shopping spree drawing. In addition to the $1,000 donation to the school, Davis won $500 in Franklin Farm Village Center gift certificates for herself.
