Earth Charter International selected Nottingham Elementary School’s "It Starts With One" video as the first winner of its first-ever international video contest. Students from Belarus, Costa Rica, Holland, Italy, Mexico, Romania and the United States participated in the contest.
Members of the school’s Planet Partners worked together with parents to create the video which is dedicated to the tenets of the Earth Chapter Initiative and the Global Citizens Project, highlights conservation, sustainability and social justice.
The contest was a collaboration with the Odyssey 2050 movie project and the British Embassy in Costa Rica.
Entries were evaluated on creativity, how well they express and connect to the values and principles of the Earth Charter, and the videos production value.
