Three teams of students from Wakefield, Washington-Lee and Yorktown high schools will travel to the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond on Friday, April 20 to compete in the state championship of the Governor’s Challenge for Economics and Personal Finance.
They are:
Wakefield High School - AP Macro & Microeconomics Class, Julian Douglass, Mia Mladenovic, Richard Tran and teacher Patrick Kelly.
Washington-Lee High School - Business and Personal Finance Class, Mathew Jackson, Andrew Long, Robson Stewart, Marsden Watson, Nora Vazbyte and teacher Lisa Moore.
Yorktown High School - AP and Microeconomics Class, Sinclair Cabocel, Katie Freund, John MacLaughlin, Elise Huppert, Andie George and teacher Eric Underhill .
State championship winners will go on to compete in the national competition on May 20 in New York City with travel and lodging covered by the sponsors.
