Letter: ‘Just Let Me Call Virginia Home’

From the scenic Shenandoah

And the Piedmont’s freckled hills

To the Tidewater’s windswept shore

Where the dogwood blooms, with the coming of Spring

The Old Dominion reigns evermore.

The birth of a brand new Nation

Conceived in courage, raised on faith

Was brought forth by your daughters & sons.

The cradle of freedom was rocked by their hand(s)

A legacy second to none

The words and deeds of so many

Pledged and preserved with their lives

Have brought glory and honor to your name.

A heritage that serves to inspire

One generations yet born will proclaim.

So let others take to the open road

And see horizons anew

Just let me call Virginia home

To the Old Dominion-ever true!
