Cold Spring Elementary School recently hosted its annual, PTA-sponsored Read-a-Thon. In addition to a day full of reading, students enjoyed listening to the award-winning storyteller, Jim Weiss (Greathall Productions), as he regaled them with tales of Sherlock Holmes, The Three Musketeers and King Arthur. Mrs. Stiefel’s third-grade class won a school-wide lottery and had Mr. Weiss work with her students on story elements, including plot, character and conflict. After school, grades 3 through 5, continued the Read-a-Thon and celebrated the event with a pizza dinner.
