The Cabin John Park Volunteer Fire Department hosted its annual open house Sunday, Oct. 16. Volunteers taught children fire safety, calling 911, and how to "stop, drop and roll," and took fingerprint identification cards for parents to keep.
Firefighters demonstrated putting out stovetop and oven fires using an old range unit, and demonstrated an automobile extrication on a donated car.
Pizza, hot dogs, sodas and cotton candy were available for free, although visitors were encouraged to make a donation to the department.
