<sh>Herbert Huntoon Clark, Jr.

<bt>Herbert Huntoon Clark, Jr., 90, of Alexandria, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at home with his beloved wife, Marjory Pettit Clark at his side. The son of the late Herbert H. Clark and Esta H. Clark, Mr. Clark was born in Crystal Lake, N.J. He lived most of his life in New Jersey, relocating to Virginia after marrying the present Mrs. Clark in 1993.

Mr. Clark was a 1937 graduate of Williams College, where he was a member of Theta Delta Chi. He was also a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, N.H. and of the Fessenden School in West Newton, Mass. Mr. Clark enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1940 and spent 36 months in the Pacific during World War II. Before moving to Virginia, Mr. Clark lived in Jackson, New Jersey for 32 years.

After being preceded in death in 1986 by his first wife, the late Marguerite McKechney Clark, and in 1992 by his second wife, the late Jeanne McNamara Olson, Mr. Clark reconnected with Marjory Pettit, whom he had dated in Washington, D.C. in 1945 while stationed in Quantico. Out of touch for 45 years, they were married in 1993 in the bride's backyard. Mr. Clark is also survived by his niece, Mary R. Bostock of Lawrenceville, N.J., and his nephews, John Ryle of Mount Olive, N.J., and Henry Clark IV of Waukeegan, Ill. He was interred at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson, N.J.

<sh>Gloria Lynn Sandtner

<bt>Gloria Lynn Sandtner, 58, of Tuscon, Ariz., and formerly of Alexandria, Va. passed away on Jan. 13. She is survived by her husband, Bob of Tuscon, her parents, Ed and Marian Sandtner of Seminole, Fla., her brother Robert Sandtner of Napa Valley, Ca., her sister Vicki Sandtner of Tampa, Fla., and her nephew, Stephen Sandtner, son of Ed Sandtner. She was laid to rest Jan. 17 at Garden Sanctuary Cemetary, Seminole, Fla.

<sh>Margaret E. Miller

<bt>Margaret E. "Peggy" Miller, 63 of Virginia Beach formerly of Alexandria passed away on Jan. 24 at Sentara Hospital, Virginia Beach.

Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Fran and Dallas Stringfellow of Culpeper formerly of Warrenton and sister, Barbara Ann Shaffier of Montross, Va. and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Mary E. Miller and her sister Mary Chrystine Leckner.

Burial at Mt. Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, Va. will be private. A memorial service was held in Virginia Beach on Tuesday, Feb. 1. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to the staff of Fidura & Associates of Virginia Beach for their care to her.
