Woodley Hills Elementary School on Old Mount Vernon Road celebrated it's 50th birthday last Friday evening. Students, parents, teachers and alumni joined together in celebrating the school's milestone birthday.
Dinner was served in three seatings in the cafeteria. Dinner music was performed by combined 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th and 5th and 6th grades. The Resource Room housed the Silent Auction, while the library was set up as a bingo parlor.
Six classrooms were transformed into decade rooms celebrating the 1950s through the 2000's. At 7 p.m., as dinner was finishing and the last bingo game was called, DJ's cranked up the music in the gym for a sock hop.
