The Flint Hill Upper School theater department is planning a fun-filled mystery-comedy spoof for its spring production. "It Was a Dark And Stormy Night" is a shameless takeoff of the stage and film comedies of the 1920s and 1930s. The play, by Tim Kelly, centers around the eccentric Saltmarsh family who inhabit the rundown and mysterious Ye Olde Wayside Inn. Not everyone in this play is what he or she appears to be. Who will survive the dark and stormy night?
Heading up the cast are senior actors, Helene Sattler and Jessica Lager, who were nominated for Cappies acting awards last year for their performances in "Crimes of the Heart." Rounding out the cast are: Iris Bainum-Houle, Abby O'Leary, Rachel Strain, Nicole Cira, Carl Rosenthal, Brad Miller, Andrew Croft, Kelly DuBois, C.C. Guinot, Megan Custis, Brandon Swab, and Kara Emery. The director is Carlo Grossman.
Performance dates are May 3 and 4, at the Olson Theater on the East Campus, 10409 Academic Drive, in Oakton. Show times are 7:30 p.m. both evenings. Admission is $5.
