McKay To Present Trophy at ‘Bird Bowl’
On Nov. 6, Supervisor Jeffrey C. McKay (D-Lee) will participate in the opening coin toss and present a trophy to the winner of the first annual football "Bird Bowl" between Hayfield Secondary School and Thomas Edison High School.

The "Bird Bowl" will be an annual event that is hosted by each high school every year.

"This will be a great annual event," McKay said in a press release. "Youth athletics are great character builders and contribute to community pride and vision. I look forward to many years of friendly rivalry between these teams."

Sports Physicals at Fairfax High
Fairfax High School will be hosting sports physicals on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6-8 p.m.

The physicals will be good for registration in winter and spring sports for the 2009-10 school year.

The cost of the physicals is $50 for pre-registered and $60 for walk-ins.

Physicals completed at Fairfax High School on Nov. 11 will be accepted at any Fairfax County Public School.

Youth Wrestling Registration
The Braddock Wrestling Club (BWC) is conducting a registration drive for youth wrestlers.

BWC is part of the Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (www.nvwf.net).

Wrestling practice will take place every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30-8:15 p.m., starting Nov. 10, at the Lake Braddock Secondary School wrestling room.

BWC wrestlers will participate in eight to 10 tournaments, from December to February.
