Churchill Football Suffers First Loss
The Churchill football team’s seven-game win streak was snapped Friday as the Bulldogs lost to defending state champion Sherwood, 17-0, at SHS.

The loss was the Bulldogs’ first of the season. Churchill (7-1) was limited to 160 yards of total offense. Alex Kantor completed 5 of 15 passes for 65 yards and rushed 10 times for 27 yards. Ryan Quinn led the Bulldogs with 46 rushing yards.
Matt Risk finished with a team-high 11 tackles, and Kantor tallied 10.

Sherwood improved to 7-1, its only loss coming against Damascus on Oct. 16.
Churchill travels to face Bethesda Chevy-Chase on Friday.

Field Hockey Playoffs Continue
The Wootton field hockey team, the No. 6 seed in 4A South bracket, travels to face No. 3 Magruder at 3:30 p.m. Thursday. No. 7 Whitman travels to play No. 2 Springbrook at 3 p.m. Thursday. Churchill, the No. 7 seed in the West bracket, travels to face No. 2 Bethesda-Chevy Chase.

Boys Playoff Soccer Matchups
Wotton, the No. 5 seed in the 4A West bracket, will host No. 12 Whitman at 6 p.m. Saturday. No. 13 Churchill will travel to face No. 4 Blair.

Girls Playoff Soccer Matchups
Churchill, the No. 1 seed in the 4A West bracket, has a first-round bye. No. 10 Wootton travels to play No. 7 Paint Branch. No . 13 Whitman travels to face No. 4 Gaithersburg at 5 p.m. Friday.

Bullis Football Loses
The Bullis football team fell to St. Albans, 49-7, on Saturday.
Bullis travels to face Landon on Saturday.
