Sports Physicals at Fairfax High
Fairfax High School will be hosting sports physicals on Wednesday, Nov. 11, from 6-8 p.m.

The physicals will be good for registration in winter and spring sports for the 2009-10 school year.

The cost of the physicals is $50 for pre-registered and $60 for walk-ins.

Physicals completed at Fairfax High School on Nov. 11 will be accepted at any Fairfax County Public School.

Montgomery, Woodson Honored on All-District Team
W.T. Woodson High School senior forward Shelley Montgomery was named Patriot District Player of the Year on Oct. 22, following Woodson’s appearance in the District Championship game.

Montgomery was also selected as part of the All-District First Team along with fellow teammates Eliana Brown, Casey Dexter and Regan McLaughlin.

Woodson head coach Becky Preston was named the Patriot District Coach of the Year after leading the Cavaliers to an impressive 17-2 record.

BRYC Spirit Day
On Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m., the Braddock Road Youth Club (BRYC) Football and Cheerleading clubs will be hosting their annual Spirit Day event at Wakefield Park.

The program will feature 13 football games between BRYC and other programs throughout the area.

Spirit Day festivities will also include football games, food and several activities.

Youth Wrestling Registration
The Braddock Wrestling Club (BWC) is conducting a registration drive for youth wrestlers.

BWC is part of the Northern Virginia Wrestling Federation (www.nvwf.net).

Wrestling practice will take place every Tuesday and Thursday, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m., starting Nov. 10, at the Lake Braddock Secondary School wrestling room.

BWC wrestlers will participate in eight to 10 tournaments, from December to February.
