What is the most significant issue facing Northern Virginia?
Northern Virginia faces a number of major issues, but I believe that out of control government spending and ridiculously high taxes are the most pressing. While families and businesses have been tightening their belts in these tough times, governments have not. Many Virginians are struggling to pay the bills, but our representatives in Richmond spend their time looking for new ways to get even more of our money. In the 39th District race, both the Democrat and Republican candidates seem to support new or higher taxes and fees. I'm the only candidate who believes that you should keep your money.

How would you address this issue?

We must reduce taxes dramatically. In order to do so, we need to reduce the size and scope of government quite a bit. This doesn’t mean elimination of important services, or a reduction in the quality of life in our communities. Quite the contrary, a smaller government will be able to focus on those things that we truly need it to do, and will allow us the freedom to live even greater lives. More specifically, we must immediately begin across the board spending cuts, and we must continue to cut every year until we reach a sustainable level.

What qualifies you for the office? What qualities do you bring?

As a native of Fairfax County, former public school student, George Mason University graduate and local small-business owner, I am fully invested in the future of the community and its well being. I grew up in Burke, attended Kings Park and Keene Mill elementary schools, and Lake Braddock Secondary. Then I went on to graduate from both Northern Virginia Community College with an A.S. in business administration, and George Mason University with a B.S. in business management. I have been a member of the Fairfax County business community for over 10 years. My experience as a local, small business owner has given me unique insight into the challenges that area businesses face, but has also taught me valuable leadership skills. I'll put those skills to good use in Richmond.

What differentiates you from your opponent(s)?

I'm the only candidate who promises to work for lower taxes, smaller government and more freedom. Both my Republican and Democrat opponents talk about finding new sources of revenue. That's code for higher taxes. Both want to force their values onto all Virginians. My opponents, and their parties, just want to continue the status quo. I'm the only candidate in the race that represents real change. I'll work tirelessly to return Virginia to its traditional values of self-reliance and freedom.

If you could say one thing to voters, what would it be?

We must stop voting for Republicans and Democrats and expecting things to change. If we truly want to stop the our slide into big government and huge taxes then we must look outside of those two parties. It’s time for a real change, and Libertarians represent that change.

Who are your political heroes/influences?

To be honest, I don't think there have been many political leaders to look up to in my lifetime. For inspiration, I look back to our founders. People like Thomas Jefferson and George Mason are my heroes. In modern times, I like Ron Paul quite a bit, though I wouldn't call him my hero. I admire his principled nature, and I share many of his values
